Bulldogs slam opponents in ‘trials’ match
The Bulldogs emerged victorious, beating Harrismith 35-14

It was rugby with a difference on Friday evening as the Clover Leaf Ladysmith took on Harrismith in a two-hour-long tournament at Settlers Park. A large crowd gathered to support the ‘manne’ and an electrifying atmosphere prevailed. The tournament was divided into four quarters of half an hour each.
The agreement between the Bulldogs and opponents Harrismith was that they would make use of the two-hour game to try out different combinations of players and give new players a chance to show off their ability.
The match ultimately served as ‘trials’ to select this year’s Bulldogs team.
With five-minute breaks in-between, the game only ended after 9pm, having started at 7.15pm. One of the players said it was a good game, just tiring, long and hard.
The Bulldogs emerged victorious, beating Harrismith 35-14.
The Clover Leaf Ladysmith Bulldogs team for 2016 will only be chosen closer to the next match.
Friday’s was not a normal match, but the crowd still cheered wildly from the stands as their team romped home to victory.
