Time Trialists on top at Battlefields Marathon

Dundee’s Time Trialists did extremely well when they participated in the Battlefields Marathon hosted by Newcastle Harriers recently.
In the 10km run, Vasanthee did well in her first official race after a long break. She finished in just over an hour.

Lani also did well in the 10km walk.

‘M3″ Rikesh ran the 10km race in an excellent time of 47 minutes

. In the 21km event, Nicky ‘The Flying’ Williams finished second with 1 hour 41 mins. This was her first time tackling a 21km run and finished closely behind the overall winner.

Thobeka ran her heart out and was unlucky to be passed by another runner, near the end. She finished fourth overall.

In the mens 21k event, Thokozani Phungula, Lindani, Petrus Mavuso, ‘Mighty’ Joe and Sanele all finished in the top ten

. Unfortunately their exact times could not be obtained.

In the 42km event, Bongani Sabelo proved how tough our local athletes are by finishing third overall.
