Highlands put oSizweni to the bat

Paradise Grounds was the setting for a thrilling cricket League semi-final on Thursday.

Highlands sought redemption, after a thrashing at the hands of oSizweni Cricket Club during the Trevor Smith Knock-Out last week.

And the rematch was every bit as entertaining.

Tasked with setting the total, Highlanders made 97 runs, thanks to a stellar knock of 50 by opener, Muhammed Moola.

It was then over to oSizweni to reply.

However, a sublime spell by Jaco van Staden, which yielded five wickets for just two runs, helped Highlands to a comprehensive win.

oSizweni found itself all out for 38.

In winning this match, Highlands set up an encounter with the second semi-finalist, Phoenix on Wednesday, at the Paradise Grounds.
