Racers speed up the weekend

Saturday marked World Autism Day and the Oval Track showed its support by raising awareness by dedicating the night to autistic children.

Racing enthusiasts were treated to another action packed night at the Oval Track last Saturday.

While racers were eager to push their vehicles to the limit, Saturday marked World Autism Day and the Oval Track showed its support by raising awareness by dedicating the night to autistic children.

In the women’s division, Zaakira Khan clinched first place, Wilma Lindeque was second and Cathleen de Jager was in third position.

Rehaan Cassim took first place in the go-kart category, with Shakeela Ameer in second place and Sadiyya Ameer in third place.

Ronnie Greyling roared into first place in the V8 Flexis class, followed by Wimpie Bezuidenhout in second position.

In the Rookies division, CJ Myburgh secured first place and he was followed by Tiaan Buys in second position.

Boet Buys left his competitors in the dust during the Tin Tops category by speeding into first place. He was followed by Flip Gerricke and Imraan Ameer in second and third place respectively.

After placing second in the Rookies category, Tiaan Buys was determined to clinch first place in his next racing event, which he did by securing a win in the 1660 category. Wimpie Bezuidenhout took second place and William Hand followed in third.

In the 1600 category, Dullah Jamalodeen took first place, with Ali Jamalodeen in second and Shaukat Khan in third.

The Hot Rods division saw Gideon Hand clinch first place, with Craig Lindeque in second position and Johan Buys in third.

Gideon Hand continued his winning streak by securing first place in the 2 Litre division, with Pieter Bester in second place and Shaukat Khan in third place.
