Billy clinches golf’s Monthly Mug
Saturday's Monthly Mug competition attracted 39 golfers to the Dundee Country Club.

Saturday’s Monthly Mug competition attracted 39 golfers to the Dundee Country Club. Winning the A division and also recording the best gross score for the day with a 74, was veteran golfer Billy Francis.
The men’s B division was won by Aaron Mbatha with a net 66. Hesmarie Bester won the Ladies B division Mug on a net 72 with Mel Janse Van Rensburg picking up the Ladies C division Mug.
The lowest net score for the day went to A Mbatha with a 66 followed by H Meyer and R Streak, both finishing with a net 69.
There were a number of players who managed to record a 2 Club, with Brian Du Toit recording two, one on hole No. 4 and another on hole No. 16. J Khumalo, R Catlett, M Bradbury and N Du Plessis all managed a 2 Club on hole No. 4, with A Mbatha and W Du Plessis on hole No. 8.
Friday’s Meat Competition saw ten players competing for the meat hamper, with Heinrich Meyer coming out tops with 26 individual points and also wining the jackpot in the process.
This coming Saturday, 9 April, is the Rotary Golf Day, in conjunction with Eventide old age home. The format is 4 BBBS and players are requested to get their names down early as this promises to be a great day with all proceeds going to a worthy charity.
Golf members are reminded that our Club Strokeplay Champs takes place the following weekend, 16 -17 April. The entry fee for the 36 hole competition is R200 p.p. The draw will be seeded by handicap and the list is now available in the bar.
The Club Matchplay Champs will take place at the end of the month over the weekend of April 30 and May 1.
