Successful golf day for Eventide and Rotary Club

This past Saturday saw the Rotary Club, in conjunction with Eventide old age home, hold their fund raising golf day at Dundee Country Club.

This past Saturday saw the Rotary Club, in conjunction with Eventide old age home, hold their fund raising golf day at Dundee Country Club.
A good day was had by all, and the day was concluded with the players and their families enjoying a succulent spit braai for dinner. A field of thirty nine golfers took part in the 4 BBBS competition, and winning the day on 45 points was the pairing of Louis Albertse & Philip Ceronio.
Abrie Pretorius and his partner Kevin Donaldson finished second with 44 points and in third place was the pairing of Petros Mhlungu & Aaron Mbatha on 43 points.
The novelty prizes for nearest the pin on the short holes went to, Veronica Donaldson on hole no. 4, Sifiso Kunene on hole no.8, Barry Sandy on hole no.12 and Robert Khumalo on hole no.16.
Billy Francis won the prize for being closest for two on the 18th hole.Bev Garner, the Rotary President, handed the prizes out to the players. After the prize giving all the players, Rotarians and their families and everyone who helped to make this event successful, enjoyed supper together.
The supper was lamb on the spit, salads etc.
Rotary and Eventide would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the Companies who sponsored holes and donated prizes for this event.
Your help is greatly appreciated and certainly helped to make this Golf Day a great success! All club golfers are reminded that the Club Strokeplay Championships over 36 holes takes place this coming weekend, and players are requested to get their names down early to avoid disappointment in missing out on competing in the championships.
The top eight players in each division will qualify for the Club Matchplay Champs which will take place at the end of the month, over the weekend of April 30 and May 1.
A notice to all members and their golfing friends that the golf course will be closed to social golfers this coming Sunday from 7 am to 10 am.
