Shuttling into the championships

The Newcastle Badminton Club took part in the Northern Natal B Championships at the Arbor Park Recreation Centre last Saturday, April 9.

Players from the club performed exceedingly well.

The tournament results are as follows:

The men’s single was won by Ruben Chetty. The plate winner was Tony Fictchard.

The ladies’ singles was won by Dawiena van Zyl. The plate winner was Marie Buys.

Men’s doubles was won by Ruben Chetty and Subash Genguswamy. The plate winners were Lixon Thomas and Jibin John.

Ladies’ doubles winners were Dawiena van Zyl and Marie Buys. The plate winners were Michelle van Tonder and Shika Supershad.

Mix doubles winners were Lixon Thomas and Dawiena van Zyl, Plate winners were Jibin John and Sindu Philip.
