Vlam Panelbeaters Motor and Outdoor Show

The day will be fueled by adrenaline, with non-stop action and entertainment throughout the day, for even the smallest petrol head.

The Vlam Panelbeaters Motor and Outdoor Show taking centre stage November 5, and the Newcastle Show Grounds will be the place to be.

The day will be fueled by adrenaline, with non-stop action and entertainment throughout the day, for even the smallest petrol head.

Fast and sideways, is how the SupaDrift boys will wow the crowd, hitting the tar at 11am and again at 2pm.

XS Promotions will be hauling down four high-powered drift vehicles to put on a rocking stunt show taking place this weekend.

Show goers will have the opportunity to jump into a drift car with a professional driver to experience the sideways craze for themselves.

But be warned, It won’t be for the faint of heart.

Jim McFarlane, XS Prmotions and Achilles Tyres driver said, he had heard so much about Newcastle fans and he could not wait to get out there.

“I’m pumped to showcase what the cars are capable of, and to meet the fans.”

Jim drives a 2004 Nissan 350Z sponsored by Achilles Tyres, sporting a 6L V8 Chevrolet engine under the hood.

“It’s equipped with the best products on the market and is fresh off the track blowing the crowds away in Johannesburg where I competed in the Supadrift National Drifting Finals. High horsepower and killer sound. I know it will be well received in Newcastle,” Jim said.

Johan Pieters of Champ Marketing, the main organiser of the Motor and Outdoor Show, said he looked forward to hosting such a wide range of performers.

“Not only on our stages, but outdoors as well. We are expecting a day full of energy, excitement and some things never before seen in Newcastle,

SupaDrift Series co-owner, Mike Skelton said KZN was a massive part of their fan base.

“We are excited to be bringing four of the biggest, baddest and loudest cars to show the crowd just what our drifting drivers do.”

Mike also drives a 2004 Nissan 350Z sponsored by Rockford Fosgate.

The other two cars are the Speed and Sound Chevrolet Lumina’s that will take the brave for rides.

“Be sure not to miss this exhilarating event!” said Mr Pieters.

Tickets to get you into a Lumina going fast and sideways will be on sale at the stand near the stunt arena, at R150 per person.

For those with more of an affinity to action of the two-wheeled kind, stunt riding brothers JC, Clive and Brenton are geared up to keep the crowd at the Vlam Panelbeaters Motor and Outdoor Show on the edge of their seats this weekend.

“These brothers were born to ride, and are always keen to push the limits performing one-of-a-kind stunts.”

Using their years of vast experience, learned from spending time and many hours taking part in different motorcycle disciplines of motocross, enduro racing, flat track as well as Quad racing and supercross, will attempt some hair-raising stunts.

Among others, they will try and jump over not one, but two TLB construction vehicles.

The rest of their show is fast, furious and unmissable, so be there!

But, if you prefer the action slightly less physical, Champ Marketing has organised four racing simulators from TGN Racing Simulators.

Challenge your friends to see who is the ultimate driving champion or, take on the track Top Gear-style and see if you can set the fastest lap time.

Or will you be able to beat The Stig’s TGN cousin, the TGN Racer? He will set his fastest time and racers can put pedal to the metal to beat him to ultimately take home the glory.

But the action doesn’t stop there.

Mr Pieters said there will be plenty more where that came from.

“It’s a motor and outdoor show, so of course the very best in outdoor gear and innovations will be on display thanks to Northern Natal Camp Worls and LJ Sports,” said Mr Pieters.

On the motoring side of things, there will be many other displays including a 4×4 route where you can experience how an offroad vehicle really performs.

Newcastle’s own curators of classic cars, the Old Hooters Club will have some of their best cars on display, including some vehicles from the 1800s.

Helicopter flips will give show goers a birds-eye view of the show and Newcastle itself while a great food court and beer garden will keep everyone fed and the thirsty throats cool.

Throughout the day, 10 teams will battle on the Touch Rugby field to see who will take home their share of R10 000 while the ‘braai broodjie’ masters take to their braai stands, and toast up a storm in the Campworld Best Braaibroodjie competition.

“Gates will open at 9am, so be sure not to miss out!”

The programme will run as follows:
– 11am – Driffting
– 11:30am – Motor Bike Stunt Show
– 2pm – Drifting
– 3pm – Motor bike Stunt Show
