Successful Skaap Dag sponsored by Farmer Skead

With a scramble drive, it was a certainty that the scores would be good but the weather man had other ideas

A big thank you must go to Farmer Skead for sponsoring the monthly Skaap Dag. Only prime cuts were on offer for the winners and runners-up.

With a scramble drive, it was a certainty that the scores would be good but the weather man had other ideas. Golfers always say that it does not rain on a golf course but Saturday proved them all wrong.

In pouring rain (no one complained), the winning team of Mayur Baboolal, Sam Sewsanker, Naveen Rajcoomar and Moekie Ghasitha won on 99, followed by the evergreen team of Fred Vickers, Paddy Geraty, Gordon Smith and Paul Fick. Third place went to Melton Schiever, Tuppy Schiever, Farmer Skead and Dave McFie.

Closest to the pin was George van Niekerk who also made a two club, as did Melton and Naveen. The longest drive to Fred Vickers, something like 300 meters? Closest to the pin for three on par five number 15 was Sam Sewsanker.

The winners all walked away with enough meat for the month. Thanks again for the sponsorship. Farmer made sure everyone received a wors roll or two. The Tuesday competition was won by Gordon Smith and Harry Koovarjee. Friday’s competition was won by Bonny Maseko.
Saturday is the monthly mug sponsored by Mortimer Toyota.
