Rhinos on a wrestling medal charge
Dubbed the Battle of Isandlwana, this Orange Grove sponsored competition is held annually in memory of the brave men that died in the battle of Isandlwana in 1879.
The Northern KZN Wrestling Rhinos travelled to Richards Bay earlier this month to compete in a ‘No Mercy’ tournament. The local club was represented by 12 of their top fighters. In a fiercely contested tournament, all 12 of the Rhinos wrestled their hearts out and all came back with medals.

Wrestling was of a high standard. JC Botha, Tommy Bezuidenhout, Leonard Kruger and Shane Stoltz fought like true warriors and brought the crowd to their feet.
The Northern KZN Rhinos are situated at Sarel Cilliers High, Glencoe. Wrestling practices take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 7pm. The club’s management invites anyone interested in this Olympic sport to attend practices or to contact coach Steven Brown on 082 880 8629.
