Biggarsberg runners prepare for Comrades with a breakfast run

This year the famous Comrades Marathon is an up run

With vuvuzelas blaring, mouths cheering and running shoes thumping on the streets, the energetic members of the Biggarsberg Athletic Club this morning hosted their traditional warm-up breakfast run ahead of next week’s Comrades Marathon.
Ken Vorster of BBAC said he was proud that the small club this year was sending around 27 members to the Comrades on June 4 which this year is an up run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
Club members gathered at the SAVF home in Glencoe from where they jogged around sleepy Glencoe just after 7am, even charging through the Glencoe Spar Centre much to the surprise of early shoppers.
Later, the runners enjoyed a much-needed breakfast prepared by the SAVF ladies.
