Impi riders take on toughest enduro yet in Msinga Municipality area

Only 35 gold class rider finished – a testimony to the toughness of the course.

The Impi Hard Enduro attracted over 600 highly-skilled bikers to the Msinga area over the weekend to compete in the two-day event that brought great publicity to this rural area.
The entries were almost double those who competed in the event held last October.
The support from the Msinga Municipality greatly assisted the event which was welcomed with beaming smiles by the local people.
It was Will Slater who managed to defend his title in the gold division, covering the 120km of treacherous riding, in 10 hours 38 minutes and 55 seconds. He was followed by Chris Barnes, Barend Erasmus and Luke Wiliams.

Only 35 gold class rider finished – a testimony to the toughness of the course. Lady rider, Kirsten Landman, finished 25h while the silver class winners were first: Heidrich Zellhuber, second Travis Holman and third Clayton Hood. The bronze winners were: Justin Flemmer, Oliver Santoro and T. van der Berg. The Dundee flag was flown high by local riders, Christiaan Zaal, Chris Purcell, Gavin van der Merwe Cliff Grey and Shane Simmons.
Co-organisers, Willem Wentzel and Craig van Heerden, thanked the sponsors, Msinga Municipality, Liquimoly, Betal and Michelin.
“Thankfully there were no life threatening injuries. It was a great event and the local people were so supportive. Check out Super Sport in about three weeks time for coverage of the event.
Bike SA magazine will be covering the even in July’s edition,” Willem concluded.
