Golfer Sifiso conquers the wind
This coming Sunday sees our "A" league team in action against Newcastle at Newcastle while the "B1" team take on Kilbarchan 2 and the "B2" side are up against Newcastle, both these games being played at Vryheid G.C.
Twenty-seven golfers braved the strong winds, at times gusting up to 35 k/h, on Saturday afternoon, to compete in the I.P.S. club competition at Dundee Country Club.
Overcoming the strong wind and finishing his round four shots better than his handicap to win the competition, was the ever consistent Sifiso Kunene on 40 individual points. Kevin Donaldson and Brett Meyer also managed to conquer the strong wind when finishing second and third with 39 and 38 points respectively.
Only two players managed to card a 2 Club on the day, and they were: Sifiso Kunene on the fourth and Cyril Mkhwanazi on the eighth hole. The second social darts competition got under way last Wednesday which saw only The Golden Arrows team of Barry Sandy and Walter Du Plessis winning all three of their games and are the current leaders of the competition ahead of both The Kev’s and Happy Feet teams whose only defeat was against The Golden Arrows.
Players are requested to encourage their family and friends to come along to the club on Wednesday evening to support them and enjoy the bar and kitchen specials which will be available.
