On Saturday, 53 players took to the field in the Maverick Golf Day, a very successful yet challenging day due to the wind.

Winners on the day were N Rajcoomar and S Khan on 50 points. Second place went to A Boettiger and G Boettiger on 47 points. Third spot was taken by V Omardath and H Baboolal.

Closest to the pin prizes went as follows: on the third was M Baboolal, on the seventh was G Smith, the 12th went to G Boettiger and then on number 16 D Diedrick took the honours.

Afterwards the golfers and their family members were treated with a lovely supper and some vibrant tunes by Viren and his band. A huge thank you to the Mavericks – aka Kamy, Doc, Viren, Deejay, Mayu, Rajen and Sam for this lovely day.

Winner of the special raffle, Karishma Premchand receives her prize from Deejay Ramdhav and George van Niekerk.

A special raffle was held and all the proceeds will be donated to the Estcourt Animal Shelter, a brilliant gesture from the Mavericks.

Estcourt hosted the KZN League on Sunday, with 48 players from all over the Midlands enjoying our course. Our regular Friday competition went to Paul Wagenaar on 14 points and the past Wednesday competition was won by Joe Soap and Another Owe.

Please note of the following important golf dates:

July 28 will be the monthly Skaap Dag sponsored by Bruce Le Roux and then on August 9 will be our Women’s Day Celebration Golf Competition.
