‘Our’ Nan crowned Champ
There is only one winner from this and that is Dundee Rotary and their endeavours to raise funds for a medical vehicle.
Tomorrow (Thursday) night sees the last round of what has been a truly amazing and wonderfully presented Dundee Rotary Team Building Business League.
It has been awesome to see so many teams having fun, making friends and some really taking an interest in bowls. There is only one winner from this and that is Dundee Rotary and their endeavours to raise funds for a medical vehicle.
The past weekend saw the KZNCB Champion of Champions being played on the greens. Twenty-five different men’s and ladies club champions from KZNCB took to the greens for the overall crown of Champion of Champions. The men’s and lady’s finals went to 26 and 27 ends respectively and what a privilege to watch. Nan Roos was on top form to beat Veronica Malan from Klipbank to be crowned the ladies champion. It was youth against experience in the men’s final and 25-year-old Walter Moore from Bergville managed to beat a past champion, Barry Mutlow from Richards Bay 21-19 to be crowned men’s champion.
The Annual General Meeting took place last week Wednesday and sees the same committee, with the exception of Dave who stands down and Taryn who was voted in as an additional member, elected for the year 2017/2018. The list for the 48 Continuous Bowls Challenge (SA Record) which takes place from November 10-12 is up on the board and it’s exciting to see how full its getting. The next Thursday evening business league will start on October 5. Two registered bowlers are allowed per team. Two games of eight ends per night starting at 6pm. Bring and braai afterwards. First 12 teams entered and paid for qualify. Contact Greg on 082 924 7788 for more information.
