Mathilda keeps Dundee’s flag flying high in the Free State
Mathilda told the Courier that although she is fishing for the 'Vrystaat', her heart is still close to Dundee.

She got hooked on fishing during her many years in Dundee, working at Greenhough McHardy and Jones and now Mathilda van Rooyen is still flying the town’s flag high.
Although she and her husband left last year for Bloemfontein, Mathilda has still kept a line in the water and has been chosen for the Free State Ladies Angling Masters A-Team that will participate in the South African Angling Championships in Blomhof later this month.
Mathilda told the Courier that although she is fishing for the ‘Vrystaat’, her heart is still close to Dundee.
“I angled for many years with the Dundee Angling Club and was selected in 2015 for the ladies KZN A team and won a gold medal.
“I started fishing competitively in Dundee in 2014 and have just gone on with the sport which I am loving.
“Regards to all my many dear friends in Dundee!”
