Local bowlers attempt to break SA record for continuous playing of bowls
Our bowlers plan to roll woods (on a relay basis) continuously for 48 hours.
A group of hardy Dundee bowlers sang the National Anthem at the bowling club this morning before a Redcoat solider fired a shot (a blank!) to signal the start of the club’s attempt to break the SA record for the continuous playing of bowls.
The current record held by Fochville Club is 30 hours. Our bowlers plan to roll woods (on a relay basis – abut 30 registered bowlers will participate) continuously for 48 hours.
So, if you have nothing to do at 1.30am tomorrow morning, instead of counting sheep get down to the bowls club – support the players and have something to eat or drink. The marathon will end at 8am on Sunday.
