'Skipping is the easiest and cheapest way to keep fit'
Thandwangubani Nxumalo, the Dundee area’s own Skipping Champ, was back home from Johannesburg last week and wasted no time in making sure the local kids were kept active over the winter holidays.
He linked up with Boxer Supermarket and teachers, Shelia and Frank of two local schools, to perform a skipping demonstration in front of Boxer, opposite the taxi rank.
Champ, as he is fondly known, believes that skipping is the cheapest and easiest way to get and stay fit.
“All you need is a rope and some energy. Boxers using skipping to improve their stamina. Anyone can do it – you do not need a field either – just a small space.”
Champ, who is from Nyanyadu but works in Johannesburg, is a regular visitor and always makes time during the holidays to give eager kids a lesson or two. These are lessons that no child wants to skip…
