Swimmers plunge into icy waters for charity

114 swimmers took part in the Drakensberg Polar Bear Swim Challenge at noon on June 22, at Dragon Peaks Dam. The temperature of the water was a chilly 10 ºC.

Over half the swimmers were from out of the area, as far afield as Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Durban.

Thank you to those who did not swim but donated directly into the Estcourt Animal Shelter Account or the Estcourt Vet Account for Khetani location in Winterton.
To the many sponsors who donated prizes, the spectators who brought pet food and the volunteers who assisted, it was much appreciated.
