Tigers pounce on Yah Yah Boys in T20 clash

Tigers' bowlers couldn't really penetrate the opposition line-up and Joey Kalicharan was the only bowler to take more than one wicket...

It was Tigers who came out tops, when it took on Dannhauser’s Yah Yah Boys in a T20 encounter last week.

Yah Yah Boys batted first and made 132-5 in 20 overs. Opener, Basheer led from the front and scored 30 runs from 41 balls. Rishi (27), Alister (23) and Mohammed Patel (21) also chipped in with decent scores.

Tigers’ bowlers couldn’t really penetrate the opposition line-up and Joey Kalicharan was the only bowler to take more than one wicket, finishing with 32 for two from his 4 overs. In reply, Tigers got off to a very shaky start and found itself 12-3 at the end of the second over.

With Bailey at the crease however, the team began to manage the situation a bit better. Although still losing wickets at regular intervals, Bailey was a mainstay, notching up a match winning 58.
Tigers lost nine wickets on its way to the win, finishing the game off with two overs to spare.

Ashveer took 26 for three in his four overs and Mohammed Patel also impressed with 11 for two. Sadly for Yah Yah Boys, it wasn’t enough to tame the Tigers.

Molls versus Ace Eagles – 30 overs:

Molls and Ace Eagles also had a tense 30 over encounter, with Molls claiming a two-wicket win. Batting first, Ace Eagles could only muster 124 all out. Kameshan top scored with 31 from 30 balls but had no other support to speak of. Armant was the pick of the bowlers, taking 26 for four from six overs.

In reply, Molls chased down the total in 16.5 overs, but lost eight wickets in the process. Henk top scored with 42 not out from 26 balls and Henry chipped in with 33 from 29 balls. Zaheer was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets for 36 runs.

Paki Lions versus Farmers – 30 overs: Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) had the final say, when Farmers and Paki Lions contested a 30 over game recently. Batting first, Farmers made 185 in its 30 overs. Colin top scored with 56 from 47 balls and Roger also showed his skills with the bat, scoring 52 from 54 balls. Saqib Ali was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets from six overs for 13 runs, including two maiden overs.

In reply, Paki Lions reached 174 from 17.2 overs when play was brought to an end. Adeel Ahmed was in superb form, notching up a century from 54 balls before he was caught. His match winning innings featured 13 fours and five sixes as Paki Lions won via the DLS method.
