The Nashua Huttenpark Pro 10 Under 13 Cricket Festival is set to hit the stumps on October 2 and 3.

Pitting eight teams from around the district, the event promises to thrill cricket fans across the board.

Aiming to crash a six into the stands, Nashua Maluti has spared no expense in its bid to ensure the participants have a lot to look forward come tournament day.

More than R30 000 was invested in arranging the tournament and the many prizes will be awarded to the best players.

“We want to encourage the youth to take sports seriously, and we want them to participate all the way. We want to be a part of their journey too,” explained Henry de Swardt, sales executive of Nashua Maluti.

Three teams will represent Newcastle on the day namely, Huttenpark Primary A and B sides, and Drakensberg Primary.

Residents, cricket lovers, and fun lovers are all invited to witness this sporting event held over two days.
