Grace was leading a group of four runners in the 1500m when she was pushed from behind and fell. She lay on the ground for a couple of seconds then composed herself, got up and managed to catch up to four other runners, pass them and finished 11th overall.

She has now shown that she has the temperament needed to excel in top competitions. Christin Minnaar, who will be joining the College next year, received a gold medal in the u13 long jump, 4m76m.

Ryan Stockil (Prep) received a bronze medal in the u13 high jump with a PB of 1,60m. This young man has grown in confidence and his performance is improving at every meeting. Ryan smashed his previous PB by 20cm.

Michaela Licen still u14 competed in the u15 age group against the likes of Amy Naude of Durban Girls College who is presently the South African u15 200m silver medalist and 400m gold medalist.

Despite the weighty competition, Michaela managed to grab silver in the 100m with a time of 12,90 and a bronze in the 200m finishing in 26,90s.

The criteria for qualifying for this event is tough, even winning a gold medal does not guarantee selection.
