Budget friendly Valentine’s Day ideas
Here are some fun and creative ways to spend your Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank.
It’s the day of love and the romantic creativity is hiding somewhere in your thoughts.
They are most likely hiding behind your latest bank statement and make you feel depressed just trying to think of them. A limited budget shouldn’t have to limit the special day with your loved one.
Here are some fun and creative ways to spend your Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank:
- Do a chore for your loved one. A little gesture goes a long way and doing something less fun, might just pay off. Be specific about what you are planning to do. Many people often offer to help with something, but never state what that ‘something’ is. Choose a task that’s part of your loved one’s daily routine, this will remind them that you do not take it for granted and appreciate what he/she is doing for you.
- Burn a custom CD. Here you can decide whether you would like to compile a CD with music or photos that are special to both of you. We spend a lot of time in our cars and listening to music that’s special to you, will remind you of your partner. Be creative and design a special cover for ‘your’ CD.
- Create a new drink. Have fun by adding a few ingredients together to create your own, hopefully good-tasting, drink. If it’s a success, write it down so you can enjoy making ‘your’ drink again. If it wasn’t a success, at least you had fun, right?
- Write a “Why I Love You” list. The thought might have crossed your mind, wondering why you love a person so much and you just can’t pinpoint it. Here is your chance to order those thoughts and write a ‘Top 10 Reasons Why I Love You’ list. You can add fun inside jokes or pictures to make it even more personal.
- Want to do something together? Write new and ‘updated’ wedding vows and share them with each other. You can be serious and humorous at the same time by writing fun vows and still meaning everything you say. Add some extra romance with a bottle of wine.
- Share a present. Cut your costs in half by shopping together for something you will both enjoy. You can buy something practical for your home or you can be spontaneous and get something absolutely useless. You’ll experience a kind of nostalgia filled with love and great memories every time you see this item.
- “Open this letter when…” We often experience days when we need to know we are loved or appreciated. Write a series of letters, all with a different theme and give them to your loved one. Your partner can open these letters when they feel it’s needed and read them over and over again.
