Soccer is as much part of the South African culture as the weekend braai. It is revered by many, and now soccer teams and enthusiasts have been given an opportunity to make a difference by participating in their favourite sport.

“All funds raised will contribute towards the CANSA Relay For Life Campaign,” explained event Co-ordinator Nashveer Nemesar.

CANSA Relay For Life is part of an international movement to unite cancer survivors and communities that care about them. It offers everyone, both young and old, the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer and to honour those who have been touched by cancer.

The tournament is set to take place on the August 31 at the Paradise Sports Grounds. Entrance is R200 per team. The games will each be six-a-side, but teams will be allowed to enter a total of ten players.

The tournament will kick off promptly at 9am. There will be food stalls and all food sold will be strictly halaal.
