A thought as this ends
The average human being spends more than an hour driving or travelling every day.

Commentary by Talha Randeree
The average human being spends more than an hour driving or travelling every day.
That means on average, you spend nearly 4 per cent of your day travelling.
It might not seem like a lot, but if you sleep for six to eight hours everyday, then it means you spend roughly 515 hours of a year in a car. That is just over 21 days.
It’s no wonder then, that I like cars, and I feel the general public should like cars as well.
I honestly do not know what the best ways are to tune a car six ways from Sunday, but I do know what makes a car tick.
I know what makes me smile when I drive a car, and here’s the thing; when you know that, when you know what makes you like driving, well, then you will find your own perfect car.
This past week has been about that – finding the perfect car, not just for myself, but for all of you.
I have to thank every dealership for trusting me in to test drive their cars. Without them none of this would have been possible and honestly, I have not had this much fun in a long time.
From the wild Toyota 86 to the refined Hyundai Grand i10, I had a ridiculously good time.
What I really took notice of was three simple things:
– For South African roads you will need a car with the ride and comfort of the Suzuki Ertiga.
– You can still have fun driving a 4×4 like the Nissan X-trail.
– Sometimes your long-time favourite cars will still stand up and impress you.
For me, the VW Polo and the Opel Corsa perfectly strung the cord strings of my heart, and I guarantee you, one day you will find the car perfect for you. Just keep searching if you are still looking.

Oh – and to my partner in crime ‘Nicolette’ – thank you for making this memorable!
