Celebrating Ramayan Week and Sri Ram Naumi

Participating in Ramayan Week celebrations will instil inspiration in our spiritual quest

The Ramakrishna Centre will be celebrating Ramayan Week and Sri Ram Naumi from March 21 to 28.

The Ramayana, which enjoys a place of esteem and dignity among the classics of the world’s literature, has had a significantly positive effect on the religious and moral lives of Hindus for centuries.  The sublime teachings of the Vedas are revealed in the lives of Sri Rama, Sita, Lakshmana Bharata and Hanuman.

The Ramayana is written in exquisite poetry and charms the seeking soul with its words of wisdom and love. Its message is for all people and for all time. In today’s world – torn apart by conflicts and restlessness, crime and degenerate moral values – the Ramayana is needed more than ever to serve as a practical guide book for daily living.

The Ramayana can become a companion in our efforts to achieve peace and understanding in this world. Participating in Ramayan Week celebrations will instil inspiration in our spiritual quest.

The Ramakrishna Centre takes this opportunity to invite you to be able to face the challenges of our modern world by listening to this character-building literature; and this eternal, ever-fresh epic which will fulfil all our heart’s desires.

The daily programme will include kirtans and bhajans on Lord Rama and Hanumanji, recitation of the Ramayana, discourses, a DVD presentation, arati and havan. A special havan celebrating the birth of Lord Rama will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 11.45am to 12.15pm at the local Ramakrishna Centre. All are welcome.

Celebrations will take place from 6.30pm to 7.30pm daily at the Ramakrishna Centre in Agra Road.
