FOOD: The most outrageously expensive pizzas
Fancy a slice of the rich life? Tuck into our list of the most expensive, eccentric pizzas in the world.
“I love pizza; you can’t really go wrong with pizza.”
Not even singer and actor, Nick Jonas can resist the allure of our favourite combination of cheese, dough, tomato puree and toppings.
But as we’ve learned, anything can be taken to the extreme.
Read on for a slice of five of the world’s most expensive pizzas, their extravagant toppings, and combinations only millionaires could dream of:

The beautiful pizza from the Big Apple
Nino’s Bellisima in New York City offers patrons 12 inches of thin-crust pizza, plus six types of caviar (including Beluga and Sevruga types), two thinly sliced lobster tails and crème fraiche. The asking price is a mere $1 000…

The priciest pizza in the world (for now)
Reputed eatery, Pierchic of the United Arab Emirates has added a pizza to its menu, carrying a price tag of over $200 000. The pizza features Italian white truffles, winter black truffles, saffron from Kashmir, French foie gras, Almas caviar (the most expensive), Beluga caviar steeped in Dom Perignon champagne, matsutake mushrooms and about 56 grams of gold leaf.

The pizza from the frigid North
Topped with lobster thermidor, smoked salmon, Alaskan black cod, tiger prawns and Osetra caviar, this gourmet pizza from Steveston of Vancouver will set you back about $450, and measures 12 inches in diameter.

The pizza with the expletives
Trust Gordon Ramsay to have a hand in this former Guinness World Record holding pizza. Available at his Maze restaurant in London, guests pay hundreds of pounds for a thin-crust pizza, topped with onion puree, white truffle paste, fontina cheese, mozzarella, pancetta, cep mushrooms, mizuna lettuce, then topped with freshly shaved Italian white truffle while you watch.

The pizza named for royalty
Named for French monarch, Louis XIII, Renato Viola caters a 20 centimetre pizza for two, served to the door. Built up around a 72-hour proven pizza dough base, the pizza topping includes three kinds of caviar, prawns, lobster, Remy Martin Cognac, champagne, mantis shrimp, and mozzarella seasoned with Murray River Pink salt from Australia. If you have €8 300 to blow, this is the one.
