Spin the wheel and win big!

Tsogo Sun’s Roulette Masters tournament is fast becoming a hot favourite among thrill seekers nationwide.

In its third year running as of January 11, the event has grown in popularity across the group’s 14 casinos, with the total minimum prizes valued at a whopping R2,5-million, and a guaranteed first prize of R1,5-million.

“We’ve seen consistent growth in participation and enthusiasm for this tournament in all 14 of our casinos, with each year seeing an increase in the prize money as a result of unprecedented buy-ins by Roulette enthusiasts. The adrenaline pumping semi-final and final stages make this a particularly exciting tournament, when so much rides on every spin of the wheel,” explained Tsogo Sun’s Director of Gaming, Steve Hight.

All prizes are funded by buy-ins across all 14 properties, which means the final Roulette Masters prize purse can increase as the number of buy-ins grow.

Buy-ins throughout the duration of the tournament are only R100, making it affordable and entertaining for all. Players can enter as often as they like, coming back to the wheel again and again for a chance to become an instant millionaire.

Qualifying rounds will take place at the following casinos until March 3: Montecasino, Gold Reef City and Silverstar in Gauteng, SunCoast, Golden Horse and Blackrock Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal, The Caledon, Garden Route and Mykonos in the Western Cape, Emnotweni and The Ridge in Mpumalanga, Hemingways and Queens Casino in the Eastern Cape, and Goldfields in the Free State.

The unit finals of the tournament will take place on March 5, followed by the group semi-finals at Silverstar on March 19.

At each casino, a maximum of five players at a time will constitute a heat and, after buy-in, each player will receive their chips and be given three spins. At the end of the three spins, the chips will be totalled and qualifying entries will be made onto the leader board, which will display the top 21 players.

At the end of the qualifying period, the player with the highest chip winnings from a single buy-in will automatically win the unit first prize, and qualify for a seat in the group semi-finals, bypassing the unit semi-finals or finals.

The following 20 players will play in the unit semi-finals, from which the top six will take their seats at the unit finals.

At the end of the qualifying period, a total of 40 players from all 14 casinos will have earned their spot in the grand finale. The nail-biting spins at the semi-final on March 19 will bring the number of finalists down to seven.

Each of these players will have seven spins, and the overall winner will be the player with the highest total value in chips at the end of the seven spins. Each of the seven finalists will take home cash prizes of varying values, totalling a minimum of R1,9-million.
