Newcastle’s own ‘Amazing Race’
Renamed the Lekker Amajuba Race, this around-the-town adventure sets off from Majuba Lodge on February 27, under the watchful eye of the Rapportryers.
After a year’s hiatus, Newcastle’s own ‘Amazing Race’ is back, in a new form.
Renamed the Lekker Amajuba Race, this around-the-town adventure sets off from Majuba Lodge on February 27, under the watchful eye of the Rapportryers.
After repeated requests from the community, explained Johann Marais, the organisation decided this was the year to bring the race back.
“We are expecting at least 30 teams of four people each. We cannot take too many more, so we are working on a first-come, first-served basis.”
The cost per team is R500.
Beyond the Lekker Amajuba Race, residents can enjoy the day with stage performances, a beer tent, a fun park for the children, a colour festival and other challenging activities.
Visitors are encouraged to form teams for the paintball challenge.
“There will be general exhibitors and a food tent, to keep everyone’s appetites sated.”
