Dust off your vocal chords, karaoke is back
According to the owner of the pub, Michael Phytides, karaoke, which has been quite well supported in the past, will be a regular event at Ella Mera.

KARAOKE, according to Google, is “a form of entertainment, offered typically by bars and clubs, in which people take turns to sing popular songs into a microphone over pre-recorded backing tracks.”

Ella Mera in Vryheid is one such bar, where patrons can, on occasion, provide their own entertainment for the evening, by belting out some of their favourite popular songs behind a microphone.

Saturday night was one such occasion and fans of the popular pastime showed up in support of those brave enough to stand up in front of pals and peers to showcase their musical prowess, or something similar.
