What is Valentines Day without romance?

Nothing sets the pace for a romantic Valentines Day better than a candlelit dinner and a romantic movie, but what movie do you choose among the scores of love stories?

Here are five movies guaranteed to create a sense of romance for Valentine’s Day:

 

1. Titanic

Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet brought a truly spectacular performance to life in Titanic.

Filmed in 1997, Titanic revolves Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater, who find the true meaning of love on the cruise liner shortly before it sinks.

A Nicholas Sparks classic, this movie was released in 2004, and revolves around an elderly gentleman in a retirement home who reads a romantic story to a fellow patient.

His story revolves around a couple who fall madly in love, but are torn apart due to the man coming from the wrong side of the track.

While the couple eventually get together, the story takes a tragic twist which is sure to bring tears to your eyes.

 

3. Ghost

Demi Moore and Patrick Swazye put on a stellar performance with this movie, where love trancends the boundaries of life.

Filmed in 1990, the movie revolves around Sam Wheat and Molly Jensen, a couple who are madly in love. However, Sam is murdered and Molly is in danger. Through his love, Sam returns as a ghost and teams up with a psychic to save his beloved.

This is a Valentines Day must.

 

4. Pretty Woman

While the prostitute was meant to be an escort to an event, the two find love and overcome the obstacles that they are faced with.

5. Romeo and Juliet

No Valentines Day is complete without Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and the tragic play lives on in the 1996 movie with Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes.

The story is about a couple whose families are at war with each other. Despite the strife, the two youngsters begin a relationship which ends with their tragic deaths.
