Luyanda Ngwenya is now officially a finalist in the coveted title of Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa.
This all happened on April 2, 2016. The interviews were held at the Protea Hotel in Wanderers, Johannesburg. All 41 contestants were gathered there and were then expected to do presentations about what they are doing for their community.
Luyanda was pleased with the exercise, as it enabled her to elaborate more about what she has done thus far. Her charity work has impressed even the organisers of the pageant. The contestants were then requested to do ramp modelling, which was later followed by interviews.
It was then announced that she has made it to the finals and the Grand Finale will take place on the 2nd of July in Pretoria.
“I want to make the community proud and will do everything in my power to bring the crown home” Luyanda said.
She is the only girl from Mpumalanga to be part of the pageant. Luyanda is still expected to continue with her charity work and to obtain more sponsors for her journey. The beautiful Luyanda would like to thank her family, community members and her Anglican Church Congregants for the continued support. She especially thanks her main sponsor, Sandra Aveling of Wimpy Volksrust.
She would also like to thank Lulu Pillay, owner of White Orient, who is sponsoring her with outfits for photo shoots and for attending Commonwealth workshops.” I wouldn’t have done this without the training I receive from Zahnie Harris, owner of Image Models. She is doing an amazing job and I thank her very much.
“I am now more polished” said the 18 year old beauty, who is now more positive about life.
