Dance studio donates to SPCA

Dance instructer and organiser of the event, Chanè Bekker, visited Vryheid SPCA, handing over R1000 to the organisation that relies solely on public funding to take care of abused and abandoned animals.

UNITY Dance Studio’s recent Showcase 2017 did not only provide two evenings of entertainment for proud parents as well as family, friends and fans of those who took part in the glamorous event, it also went on to give something back to the community in the form of a donation to Vryheid SPCA.

As stated in the advertising that led up to the Showcase, ten percent of the proceeds of both evenings was set aside and on a chilly Monday morning, dance instructer and organiser of the event, Chanè Bekker, visited Vryheid SPCA to make good on her promise, handing over R1000 to the organisation that relies solely on public funding to take care of abused and abandoned animals.

“I have a great love for animals,” says Chanè. “It actually breaks my heart to go to the SPCA. But I think it is a very important organisation that doesn’t really get the support it needs. We had a Food Run for Vryheid SPCA last year at the studio and when I took the food to them, they were so grateful and kept saying how much they appreciate it. From then on I decided that donating and raising funds for the SPCA will be Unity Dance Studio’s way of giving back to the community, as I believe that it is very important for every business to do.”

“When I was there on Monday for the handover, things were looking so much better… It also looks like they are doing renovations for the best interest of the animals. It makes my heart happy to see that.”

Well done, Chanè. We hope this inspires others to follow suit.
