Sanri joined FNB in January this year as a Quantitative Analyst. One of the most exciting parts so far has been working with diverse teams across the bank to solve business problems. We got in touch for more on her experience.

What is exciting about your work? “We started working in our business units in early January when most people were still on holiday. This meant we had enough time to gradually get to know every new face that formed part of the team we were joining. The most interesting day was the first day at FNB. We went walking through all the buildings of FNB in Bank City, getting to know our surroundings.”
“One of the most exciting parts of my job has been to join forces with diverse teams such as marketing, finance and IT to solve business problems.”
“My advice to students entering the job market: Embrace the challenge of change, because if it isn’t challenging you, it isn’t changing you.”
What surprised you most about entering the working world? “The most surprising moment I’ve had thus far was when I realised that being an adult and working hard is really not that bad as long as you love what you’re doing. Joining FNB has made me realise that working for the right cause gives one the self-fulfillment that we all strive for in our careers.”
What would you have done differently during your years at University? “I would probably have studied a little harder since I’ve seen that hard work really does pay off. I’d also choose my time more wisely to make sure I lived a balanced life. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with friends and family.”
