Dundee Homecoming: Do you know this woman?

Can anyone help identify her or add any further information about why this was done and was it for some special function?

In the run-up to the opening of the Dundee Homecoming exhibition at Talana Museum over Heritage Weekend in September, Courier readers are requested to assist in identifying long-forgotten photos and donating photos and other items to supplement the exhibition.

Remember, the exhibition is relevant to the whole area – not just Dundee.

In the first of several articles to be published to assist Talana Museum, we publish this stunning black and white photo dating back to 1953.

All that is known is that the young lady was in Dundee High School and was dressed to resemble Queen Elizabeth for her coronation. We still don’t know who she is.

Can anyone help identify her or add any further information about why this was done and was it for some special function?

If you have any information please contact Siya or Pam at the Museum or the Courier!
