Utrecht’s old Parsonage Museum host historic writer
Moolman has a vast knowledge of history and not only is he a charming man, but he has certain characteristics that writers have, leaving them come back for more.
The Old Parsonage Museum, Utrecht had the privilege to host a memorable occasion with the famous writer and historian, Nico Moolman at the Utrecht Museum on Friday, November 17.
Moolman has a vast knowledge of history and not only is he a charming man, but he has certain characteristics that writers have, leaving them come back for more.
He is known for his published work such as The Boer Whore, Kuier in ‘n Plaaskombuis, South Africa at a Canter, Die Pienk Traaisiekel among others.

His work is rich in history and the photography in his work is remarkable. The finds Moolman has in his collections are breath taking and gave a certain kind of mystery but also a sadness if due regard is had to the history of South Africa.
On the night, Moolman showcased a compilation of photography as well as a movie of the South African history and battles. This captured the guests’ attention and reminded them of the past and how far South Africa has come, thus making us proud to be South Africans.
“We at the Old Parsonage Museum, Utrecht were honoured to have Moolman as our guest and are glad that Moolman will be more actively involved in the museum.”
