We have put together a quick and easy, six step recipe for making the best Friday night taco pie, guaranteed to happily ease the little one’s hunger pains.
It’s finally Friday, you’ve had an exhausting week behind you and just feel like kicking off your shoes, lying back and relaxing.
And then in the midst of your ‘quiet time’ you hear the rumbling and grumbling of hungry tummies, and before you know it…
“Mommy, what are we eating tonight?”
This is the moment you remember you have children and children are like plants; they need food to grow.
So there you go, dragging your butt off the couch, crawling to the kitchen, just to get there and think, “What should I make for dinner?”
We have put together a quick and easy, six step recipe for making the best Friday night taco pie, guaranteed to happily ease the little one’s hunger pains.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
– One packet puff pastry
– One pound ground beef mince
– One packet taco seasoning mix
– 250g sour cream
– Mixed Mexican cheese blends
– One packet tortilla chips crushed
Directions:
– Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celcius
– Lay puff pastry flat on the bottom of a square oven pan, and bake according to package directions.
– Meanwhile, brown the ground beef in a large pan over medium high heat.
– Add the taco seasoning and stir together well.
– When dough is done, remove from oven, and place the meat mixture on top, layer it with sour cream and cheese, and then top off with the crushed nacho chips.
– Return to oven and bake at 175 degrees C for 10 minutes, or at least until cheese has melted.
