Monday Muse – One free meal please, but make mine with chilli sauce
Even the poorest of the poor can be picky and one man voiced his dissatisfaction that there was no chilli sauce to put over his wors roll

Mandela Month is a time for giving back to the less fortunate, but what happens when the less fortunate want more that what you’re giving.
The Northern Natal Courier staff found that out first hand on Friday, when they did their good deed to honour Madiba’s birthday. Handing out boerewors rolls and fresh homemade soup to the most deserving around Glencoe, the Courier team spread a few smiles.
But not everyone was happy.
Even the poorest of the poor can be picky and one man voiced his dissatisfaction that there was no chilli sauce to put over his wors roll, only the usual tomato sauce and mustard options.
Another remarked that next year they wanted blankets as well.
As demanding as the down and out were, it was the working class that really took the cake.
Government employees, working nearby, requested that wors rolls were sent to their table, because they were hungry too. When their requests fell on deaf ears, they urged the needy to beg on their behalf for food at the Courier stall.
There was one handy lesson learnt from the day though – ‘Rather help the animals, they’re less like to bite the hand that feeds.’
