Ladysmith stood atop affairs in the previous season.

The club was crowned the VME League Champion and AA Tours Grand Challenge Champion, while Breakwaters prevented a clean sweep by winning the Transnat Knock Out.

The new season gets underway on August 26 with VME League One.

Beyond the competition and the upcoming season, the APL hosted its AGM in July, where a new cabinet was elected to serve for the next 12 months.

The positions were filled as follows:

Matthew Shunmugam was elected President, with Vishnu Govinder to serve in the position of Vice President.

Ajen Goli is the new club Secretary.

Eugene Ramparsad takes up the reigns as Treasurer, while record-keeping goes to Liaquat Ahmed (Record Clerk) and Vishal Dookhi (Assistant Record Clerk).

Rafiq Hofesse is the APL Public Relations Officer.

The final two executive positions go to Saleem Abdool (Assistant Public Relations Officer) and Monty Slabbert (Timekeeper).

Season titleholders have also been confirmed.

Rishen Nankoo of Ladysmith AC caught the heaviest scaled fish (carp of 4.5 kilogrammes), while Valentino Murugan bagged the heaviest non-scaled fish (11.4kg).
