Estcourt’s house DJ nominated for national music award
The local DJ will be rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the South African kwaito and house scene
Sizwe Ntshaba is ready to see his name up in lights again. This time, he will be joined by some of the biggest names in the South African kwaito industry. The 28-year-old from Thembalihle, who is popularly known as DJ Spencer TMB, has once again been nominated for an award that acknowledges his dedication to his music.

With close to two decades in the music industry, DJ Spencer TMB is no stranger to recognition from his peers. In 2015 he was nominated for the SA DJ of the Year awards and in September of 2016, he was nominated for the Best DJ of the Year in the Live Your Dream SA Youth Awards.
This year, he is bursting with pride as he announces that he has been nominated for Best New House Artist at the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards (MKHMA) for his song entitled ‘Ngiyamthanda’. The national awards ceremony has been running since 2016 and aims to recognise, celebrate and connect kwaito and house artists.
DJ Spencer TMB says he is ecstatic at being accredited as a force in the music industry and added that this could pave the road to attaining a South African Music Award (SAMA).
The local DJ will be rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the South African kwaito and house scene, with Distruction Boys, DJ Tira, Black Coffee, Lady Zamar and Kwesta being some of the other nominees.
“I am very happy to have achieved this nomination. I know I can make my hometown proud,” said Sizwe.
In order for DJ Spencer TMB to proceed to the awards ceremony, which will be held on November 24 at Carnival City in Gauteng, fans will have to vote via SMS.
