Lightning strikes again – No water in Vryheid reservoirs
The mayor has confirmed that lightning struck the pump at Klipfontein Dam again.

So they say lightning never strikes the same place twice…
It seems however that the pump at Klipfontein Dam is the exception to that rule.
Rampant cable theft: AbaQulusi Municipality has a plan
If you woke up to find that your taps were dry again this morning, Mother Nature and her violent temper, once again, are to blame.
No water in the taps again, Vryheid? Here’s why…
During last night’s magnificent storm, the pump at Klipfontein Dam was once again struck by lightning, confirms AbaQulusi mayor, Cllr Jerry Sibiya.
“It seems there was no lightning protection in place after the last damages occurred,” he utters solemnly. “But we are addressing the issue…”
At this point the reservoirs are apparently empty again, so AbaQulusi has no running water.
So, what is the plan and when will we have water again?
AbaQulusi Water Manager, Nathi Mbongwa was unavailable for comment.
We will publish updates as the story unfolds.
