Death on the R34 – Newcastle man killed in head-on collision
Our condolences go out to the family of the man who was killed in a collision near the turn off to Lenjane this morning, shortly after 7am.
THE Melmoth road near the Lenjane turn off was the scene of egregious tragedy this morning as what has been described as a head-on collision claimed the life of one man and left another injured.
The details of the crash have not been verified at this point. However, it has been confirmed that the deceased, who was driving a grey Polo, is a 50-year old Newcastle man.

Severe weather leads to crash – Tow truck operator lives to tell the tale
The driver of the other vehicle sustained severe injury to his lower back and has been treated for other moderate injuries. He is currently awaiting a transfer from Vryheid Provincial Hospital to Madadeni.
