Spring sunshine to give way to rain in Dundee this week
Spring will arrive with sunshine and temperatures of up to 28°C in Dundee, but a cold front is expected later in the week.
Residents can expect warm spring weather at the start of the week before a sharp cold front brings cooler temperatures and rain from Friday into the weekend.
According to AccuWeather, Dundee is set for a warm and mostly dry start to September, with temperatures climbing to 28°C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Warm start to spring
Today (Monday) will be cloudy in the morning before clearing to partly cloudy skies during the afternoon and a fine evening. Temperatures will range between 10°C and 27°C.
Tuesday, September 1 and traditionally the first day of spring in the Southern Hemisphere, begins with patches of fog before clearing to sunny skies, with a high of 28°C and a low of 10°C.
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the warmest days of the week, with clear skies and highs of 28°C. Overnight temperatures will be milder at around 14°C.
Cold front arrives on Friday
The weather changes on Friday as light rain moves into the area during the morning, bringing cloudy conditions for the rest of the day. Temperatures will drop significantly to a maximum of 17°C and a minimum of 12°C.
Saturday will remain cool and cloudy, with a high of 20°C and a low of 11°C. Heavy rain is forecast for Saturday evening, with around 5.4mm of rainfall expected.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the warm weather early in the week but keep jackets and umbrellas handy as the weekend approaches.
