Action taken to ensure safety for the Easter weekend
Vehicles were searched for unlicensed firearms, stolen goods and drugs,
Members from various police stations within the Fezile Dabi District stood parade under the command of Tumahole Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Jansen Van Rensberg, on April 16 to conduct a vehicle check point and social crime prevention operation.
They conducted the vehicle check point at the entrance of Tumahole to stop and search vehicles for unlicensed firearms, stolen goods, drugs, and to check roadworthiness. Pamphlets on the dangers of substance abuse (drugs and liquor) were also issued to motorists.
The second group visited liquor outlets to check for compliance and shared safety tips for the Easter weekend.
