Parys Info & Tourism received a welcome donation from the Fezile Dabi District Municipality on Tuesday, which included a laptop and advertising display boards to support its daily operations.

The donation follows years of ongoing support from the district municipality, which has previously contributed to the publication of a visitor’s guide for Parys and provided vital administrative tools.

According to Werda Visser, chairperson of Parys Info & Tourism, a request for assistance was submitted to the district municipality some time ago, and the latest contribution is expected to significantly strengthen the office’s efforts in marketing Parys and the Vredefort Dome as a World Heritage Site.
Currently, Parys and Kroonstad are the only towns within the Fezile Dabi District Municipality that host official tourism information centres.

Parys Info & Tourism has operated since 2001 from its premises at 30 Water Street. The office plays a central role in promoting tourism through its information services, event coordination, local marketing, event promotion, and the display of marketing material at the office.

The organisation also boasts a dynamic and regularly updated website featuring static links to members’ websites, as well as active social media campaigns that showcase the town’s attractions and events.

Members receive regular feedback on client referrals, with quarterly client update sessions and annual visits to establishments, forming part of the support structure.
