Caring hearts reaching out on Madiba Day

A deed of kindness goes a long way.

July 18, known as Mandela Day, started at the Epilepsy Free State/Northwest Branch in Parys with delightful pancakes – courtesy of Eiffel Waffle House, for residents of the centre, while the Kroonval Engen One Stop team painted two residential flats. This team has been doing their part to reach out to the branch for quite a while, recently also assisting with the centre’s veggie garden.

The team of Kroonvaal Engen One Stop renovated two of the residential flats at the centre.
Kroonvaal Enen One Stop has a long relationship with the centre, reaching out to these residents.

But there were even more surprises for the day with managers and personnel from Woolworths Food and WEdit Rivershed, joined by managers and personnel from Woolworths branches in the Vaal Triange, who renovated the Epilepsy centre’s laundry room, donated bedding for the residents, and made other significant donations.

Woolworths donated comforters to all residents of the centre.
The beautifully renovated laundry room is thanks to the caring hearts of managers and personnel from Woolworths. On the photo is Natasha Stander (Store Manager, Woolworths Food Rivershed), Patricia Nbongwa (Store Manager, WEdit Rivershed) and Lucy Sehona (Department Manager Woolworths Food).

The Woolworths personnel cooked a special lunch for the centre’s residents.
They even helped to clean the centre’s garden.

The Woolworths staff spent the day cooking up a storm and organising a festive lunch, with a side of karaoke, and even helped to make the garden neat. The Epilepsy Free State/North West Branch is incredibly thankful to all who spent their 67 minutes of charity at the centre.
