Miss Grand SA fianlist: Thandeka making her way to the national stage

Thandeka's wish is to bring change in her community

Thandeka Zibuta, a young woman from Tumahole in Parys, will represent the Free State as a finalist for Miss Grand SA 2026.

Growing up in the dusty streets of Winnie Section, she matriculated from Barnard Molokoane Secondary School and went on to pursue studies in Computer Practice.
Giving back to her community is important to her. “Should I win the pageant title, I would love to launch my Thembalihle Legacy Foundation, focusing on empowering young girls and women in South Africa through education and skills development,” she says.

Through this platform, she wants to inspire and motivate young women, while also campaigning against gender-based violence.

Modelling has always been a passion for her. “I have taken part in a few local pageants, but Miss Grand SA is a big leap,” she adds. In the past, her participation in local pageants earned her the title of Miss Ore Incarnate SA Queen, Miss Mandela Day Ambassador, and first runner-up for Face of Metsimaholo, as well as first runner-up for Miss Flavius Mareka TVET College, where she studies.

Speaking fondly of her mother, she describes her as her role model, inspiration, and motivation to never give up, no matter the circumstances.
“She’s my rock. I am here because of her loving support.”

Thandeka also expressed her gratitude toward the Executive Mayor of the Ngwathe Local Municipality, Cllr Victoria de Beer-Mthombeni, with whom she attended the Mrs SA 2025 crowning event.
“Strong women inspire me. I am excited to be part of Miss Grand SA.
