The paediatric ward at Parys District Hospital has a fresh new look, thanks to the finalists of this year’s Mr and Miss Parys High School. The learners worked hard to raise funds to help renovate and improve the paediatric ward, making a meaningful difference to young patients and their families.

In addition to giving the ward’s walls a fresh coat of paint, the project also provided a microwave, kettle, pyjamas for the children, pillows, sheets, pillowcases and curtains for the ward.

The legacy created by the learners would not have been possible without the support of sponsors, as well as Parys Mega Mica, which not only donated the paint but also made its staff available to assist with the paint work. Mr and Miss Parys High School is a community project aimed at making a positive difference in the Parys community.

The initiative gives learners the opportunity to use their platform to contribute to their community and support worthy causes.

The renovation of the paediatric ward follows an earlier collaboration this year between Mica Parys and hospital staff, who joined forces to repaint the hospital’s casualty department.

Through these community-driven initiatives, the learners and their supporters are helping to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for patients at Parys District Hospital.
