According to the communication officer of the police in Fochville, Sgt Elsie Tshonte, the owner of the farm Lepat at Elandfontein, Mr Meyer, found that 40 of his sheep were stolen on 8 April.
He immediately contacted the police in Fochville, who started with investigations.
A team of detectives, led by WO Solomon Ramulondo, followed information that took them to Ext. 99 in Kokosi the next day.
They found the sheep stashed in a shack and arrested four men, aged 20, 22, 24 and 37 years old respect-ively. Luckily, only one of the sheep had already been slaughtered.
The Fochville station commander, Colonel Phumelele Matamela, encouraged police members to keep on working together with the community following the arrests.
She also thanked the community members who provided the police with the information.
“It would have been very difficult to find the sheep inside the shack without it,” she said.
