Screening is voluntary and implies that health practitioners will complete a questionnaire to identify people eligible for Covid-19 testing. Only those who qualify will then be referred for testing. Screening is currently being done all over the country as an important part in the scientific process of seeing where SA is at in terms of flattening the curve in the spread of the virus.

According to the Free State Department of Health, a total of 76 271 people had already been screened on Monday throughout the Fezile Dabi Distric.  Parys forms part of Fezile Dabi.

Only three people in the Fezile Dabi District so far tested positive for Covid-19.

On Monday, the FS had a total of 102 positive Covid-19 cases and five deaths, all of which were in Bloemfontein.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in SA was 3635 on Wednesday.

There are currently four official testing sites in Parys namely Parys Hospital, the Schonkenville Clinic, Thabang Clinic and the Vivian Mangwane Clinic. Relebohile Clinic is the testing site for Vredefort.
